An Engine Control Unit also known as an Engine Management System. If the acceletral pedal is pressed further down, this will open the acceletral body and allow more air to be pulled into the engine. The ECU will fill more fuel according to how much air is flowing into the engine. If the engine is not warmed up yet, more fuel will be injected in a cool engine.
